i wanna welcome everybody here in this cheer team. thank you for coming here this morning to stand on my side cheering me on. it’s my dream to have the opportunity to challenge all the foreign athletes to the championship at this great occasion: XX年 olympic games. now, the dream came true. as an athlete of china, i’m here to win the gold medal of orienteering for our motherland.

i’m so proud of being one of the best players in the world. but could you believe i had been a lazy girl when i was in junior high. i’m not kidding! at that time, running was my last favorite. i really don’t know how to describe the first time i was on the track. it was horrible. when i started to run, i was simply out of breath. and while i touched the finishing line, i really didn’t know if i was still alive. it’s so funny, huh? but it’s true, i did.

well, something happened and changed the situation. we won the right of holding the olympic games in 2009. after that, sports became a kind of game in campus. and there are many sports clubs in school. one day someone asked me:“are you gonna try one of those?”first i felt so wired.

“try to get into sports clubs? are you kidding?” i said. and she goes: “why not?? it’s not hard at all, and so fascinating!” so i did tried one and i was so lucky to become one of those who did orienteering. that is a fantastic sport! you need to run and find where to go just by using a map and a compass. it’s wasn’t popular in china at first. but when we heard it might become a new event in 2009, we did practiced hard, and aimed to win the first champion of orienteering in the world. when we practiced, there were a lot of troubles. you know, sometimes you need to go with your feet, but sometimes you need to go with your heart. in some situations, we faced the difficulties and problems. and we need to solve that through teamwork and strong willpower. so we can run faster, go higher and be stronger. that is what we say—olympic spirit.

now the dream came true. i’m standing here with all my body and my heart put in sports. so do the people from all over the world to here at the olympic games. it’s the olympic games that make us together. we are here for a big day of sport; we are here for a dream of sports. we are here for a spirit of sport that encourages us to face the difficulties of today and tomorrow.

every one of us, rich or poor, should at least have one or two good friends. my friends will listen to me when i want to speak, will wipe my eyes when i cry, will take care of me when i am sick, and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.

as students, we could share more time with our friends. the friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. i often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. especially when i had justin as one of my best friends. justin was my english teacher from the usa. i met him in 1996 when i was a student who could only speak very little english. justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. he taught us english by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing. i could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on christmas eve. it was so interesting and unforgettable. justin was an excellent teacher, because he taught us not only how to study english well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. i know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. justin is the best friend i have ever had, and i know i will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.

friendship is a kind of treasure in our lives. it is actually like a bottle of wine, the longer it is kept, the sweeter it will be. it is also like a cup of tea. when we are thirsty, it will be our best choice, but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves, it is also the most fragrant drink.

however, in this fast-developing modern society, the reality is not that. more and more people forget to enjoy the beauty of life and -the beauty of friendship. they work hard in order to gain a higher position, in the society and to earn more money for their work. of course, we don't deny that it is important to find a bet-ter place in our lives, but we wish more and more people could pay a little more attention to themselves and their friends. all of us have to spare some time for personal lives. we have to find the chance to express our emotion and love. when staying with our friends, we can release ourselves completely. we can do whatever we want, we can laugh together, talk together, and even cry to-gether. i should say that being together with our best friends is the most wonderful moment of our lives.

1.引言

在素質教育日趨顯示其重要性的21世紀,在英語成為世界通用語的大環境下,英語演講能力已逐漸成為現代人的必備素質之一。對于高校大學生來說,英語演講不僅能提高他們的口頭表達能力,而且能訓練其寫及中英文思維轉換能力,并且能夠真正有效地提高其英語學習的熱情與能力。

為了使廣大英語演講愛好者在英語演講上有更進一步的發展,并使得他們能在演講中脫穎而出,本文對英語命題演講進行了探究。本文將把英語命題演講與心理學上的“首因效應”理論相結合,通過活動和試驗的途徑從一個全新的角度詮釋不同方式的英語命題演講開頭對演講所起的不同效果,從而整理并提出有效的適用英語命題演講的方法。

2.首因效應理論概述

在心理學中,首因效應也叫“第一印象”效應。第一印象,就是在短時間內以片面的資料為依據形成的印象,心理學研究發現,與一個人初次會面,45秒鐘內就能產生第一印象。這一最先的印象對他人的社會知覺產生較強的影響,同時在對方的頭腦中形成并占據著主導地位。試驗心理學研究表明,外界信息輸入大腦時的順序,在決定認知效果的作用上是不容忽視的。最先輸入的信息作用最大,最后輸入的信息也起較大作用。大腦處理信息的這種特點是形成首因效應的內在原因。

首因效應本質上是一種優先效應,當不同的信息結合在一起的時候,人們總是傾向于重視前面的信息。即使人們同樣重視了后面的信息,也會認為后面的信息是非本質的、偶然的,人們習慣于按照前面的信息解釋后面的信息,即使后面的信息與前面的信息不一致,也會屈從于前面的信息,以形成整體一致的印象。

4.首因效應理論活動與試驗結果分析

4.1 英語命題演講開頭方式

在各類演講圖書及相關研究中,關于給人留下第一印象的英語演講方法探究,大多只是零星點綴,沒有系統化。所以,我們試圖以心理學理論為指導,從一個全新的角度對首因效應在英語命題演講中的應用進行一次深入的探究。通過對幾百篇名家和大中學生英語演講詞,以及本活動組開展的一次英語命題演講比賽的歸納分析,我們總結出以下若干方法:自我犧牲法、初設懸疑法、反復強調法、以彼為傲法、幽默風趣法、排比鋪陳法等。

4.2 試驗分析

此次試驗目的在于進一步證實上節所述方法的在具體實踐中的作用,是我們將心理學首因效應理論與英語命題演講相結合的試驗。試驗主要從六種最具有代表性的演講開頭方式來探討與研究“首因效應”對英語命題演講的影響,即“自我犧牲”法、初設懸疑法、反復強調法、以彼為傲法、幽默風趣法、排比鋪陳法等。

試驗以一位演講者就單一演講主題,在語調及著裝等皆不變的情況下,依次對這六份不同開頭方式的演講稿進行演講。演講結束后,由2名外籍評委及24名大眾評委對演講者以不同開頭方式所進行的演講進行投票及評析。試驗投票結果分析如下表:

(注:(1)自我犧牲法:通過在演講開頭講述一些關于自己的小秘密或小故事,從而引起聽眾的興趣;

(2)以彼為傲法:指在演講開頭贊美聽眾或以聽眾的驕傲作為自己的驕傲,繼而贏得好感;

(3)受歡迎比率以前三名投票占總票數的百分比計算,保留一位小數。)

綜上表所述,在精選的六種開頭方式中,能在聽眾中留下第一印象最深的是幽默風趣法,受歡迎程度比率為83.3%;第二是初設懸疑法,受歡迎程度比率為75%;排名第三的是自我犧牲法,受歡迎程度比率為58%;第四是排比鋪陳法,受歡迎程度比率為48%;排名最后兩位的是以彼為傲法和反復強調法,受歡迎程度比率分別為20.8%和12.5%。

根據受歡迎程度比率和首因效應理論,在英語命題演講中,演講者應首選幽默風趣法開頭首先給聽眾一個風趣的印象,其次是使用排名其后的各種開頭方法。雖然排名靠后的方法受歡迎程度低,但是同樣具有其自身的特點和實用價值,每種方法都有其可取之處。

5.結語

本文首次將心理學首因效應理論與英語命題演講結合起來,通過對活動和試驗結果及數據的分析,把英語命題演講開頭的受歡迎程度量化,增加了各種方法在實踐中的可對比性和可操作性。

但無論掌握和使用哪種開頭方式,首先都需要演講者以扎實的英語基本功為基礎,進行命題演講以前進行大量的練習,其次演講開篇有要始終體現開篇目的,即揭示演講主題,抓住聽眾注意力和興趣,建立與聽眾的良好關系。由于本實驗小組水平有限,在研究中出現了不少不足之處,如試驗組織不合理、研究方向比較狹窄等問題。

英語作為一種交際工具, 其中“說”的作用在交際上顯得尤為重要。學生中相當一部分是由于英語成績不好而影響學習成績。在英語課堂上表現得消極,不愿開口說英語,影響進行正常的課堂活動。如果不想辦法改變這種狀態,英語課堂教學就成了“一言堂”,枯燥乏味,就會直接影響教學效果。針對這種狀況,教師應從學生的實際出發,著重從以下幾方面培養學生開口說英語的良好習慣,建立學好英語的信心。

一、“聽”與“說”相結合的訓練使學生能開口說英語。

(1) 培養“說”的能力。從聽入手, 先聽后說。英語課上教師要全英語授課,更要示范性的多說英語。還可以利用中午學生活動時間10-15分中,播放適合初中學生聽的英語,也可以在班會課讓學生觀看全英文的電影。但讓學生“聽”之前, 教師一定要對較難的聽力摘要內容。學生在廣泛聽的基礎上, 在語言的接觸中吸取大量積極而有用的詞匯。通過這種長久“聽”“說”結合的強化訓練, 使學生能開口說英語。

(2)重視朗誦和背誦。朗讀和背誦使學生開口說英語的有效途徑。任何一種語言口語能力的形成都離不開語言材料大量有效的輸入與積累。通過朗讀和背誦,可以在腦子里儲存大量有用的詞匯、短語、習慣用法;通過朗讀和背誦,可以了解英語國家的生活、風俗習慣、人文、歷史、地理知識等。讀得多了,背得多了,自然就形成了英語語感。語感一旦形成中學英語教學論文,好多句子就會脫口而出,頭表達能力也會隨之提高。

二、立足課堂訓練強化學生開口說英語。

(1)“值日報告”和“師生會話”來激發學生開口說英語。每節英語課教師利用幾分鐘時間要求學生用英語演講、對話或用英語講小故事,甚至是唱英語歌曲,形式通常是由學生自己決定,時間通常為3-5分鐘。 這種“值日報告”可以營造學習英語的氛圍,同時也可以活躍課堂氣氛。然后對于“值日報告”中所涉及的見聞,談論的人物,愛好、景色等進行師生會話,一般先安排英語口語較好的學生,給其他學生做個榜樣。對于稍差的學生,教師要有意識地降低會話的難度,消除學生畏難情緒,讓每個學生在課堂能展現自己,有所收獲。

(2)組織口頭練習為主的課堂活動加強學生開口說英語。例如,在學習《義務教育課程標準實驗教課書(新目標)》八年級上冊第六單元“How do you make abanana milk shake ?”一課時,教師可以先在屏幕上出現各種水果。先請一名英語學習較弱的學生說出水果的英文名稱,其他學生聽寫所提到的英語單詞。然后,請英語學習較好的學生分別用課文中學過的單詞聯詞成句。最后,請英語成績好的學生看圖復述這種食物的制做步驟。通過這種層層深入的訓練,因人而宜,循序漸進地提高要求,調動了全體學生積極參加課堂活動同時也加強了學生說英語的積極性。

(3)模仿和復述課文中的部分段落也是訓練學生開口說英語的重要形式。如《義務教育課程標準實驗教課書(新目標)》八年級上冊第六單元,有個關于人物外貌,興趣等特征的描寫。教師可以要求學生模仿這一段來描述身邊所熟悉的喜歡的家人或朋友。初中的學生對這種訓練很感興趣,樂于開口用英語來表達。教師也可以要求學生用不同的人稱、時態來復述所學的內容。老師可以按著故事的情節為線索,把重點詞、句寫在黑板上,或以時間順序引導學生復述。教師也可以用簡筆畫,邊畫邊引導學生復述課文,避免學生死記硬背,有效幫助學生理解記憶,更有利于增強學生的開口說英語的能力。

三、倡建有效地課外活動使學生樂于開口說英語。開展一些說英語的課外活動。比如,定期召開英語演講會,關鍵詞,如何過渡和如何結尾等。其他的學生要準備演講稿。在這準備過程中中學英語教學論文,學生相互幫助,團結協作,讓每個學生都進入自己的角色,有聲有色地完成整個活動。學生們寓語言訓練于愉樂之中,鞏固了所學的知識,開口說英語的能力也得到鍛煉。

培養學生說英語, 語言環境也非常重要。教師和學生一起可以布置一個充滿英語的環境。可以每周出英語黑板報,教室墻上可以貼英語標語、英文地圖,教室書架上可以準備英語報紙、英語雜志、英語閱讀等等,可以讓學生隨處見到英語,隨時翻閱英語書籍。學期開始讓每個學生取一個英文名字,英語課上, 教師叫英文名字,同學之間也互相叫英文名字, 這些都能創設一種濃濃的英語氛圍, 使學生渴望用英語交談。總之,一名英語教師,就如同交響樂隊的指揮家,組織學生進行大量豐富多彩的訓練, 從而逐漸培養學生開口說英語的習慣。
